TOPIC: FOUNDATIONAL BATTLES (1)

Image
TEXT: Deuteronomy 33:6 Let Reuben live, and not die; and let not his men be few. Many people find it strange whenever we talk about foundational battles, or when we say this or that is a foundational problem. That's because layman's definition of the word foundation is about the root or first stage of a building... I PRAY GOD WILL OPEN OUR EYES OF UNDERSTANDING IN JESUS NAME... Today we'll be looking at one of the instances where foundational battles affected not just an individual, but not just a family but a whole clan. Although I will not deny the fact that some people preach that there is no such thing as foundational/generational curses but after these series, you are free to believe whatever you wish. Reuben was the firstborn of Jacob and by right he was supposed to get a double portion of the inheritance from his father. Unfortunately, he had some skeletons in his cupboard. 1. He slept with one of his father's concubines/wives and 2. He lied to the ...

WHERE IS YOUR TREASURE?

Image
LUKE 12:32-48  KEY VERSE: "For where your treasure is, there will also be your heart" (Luke 12:34). Men would be deprived of a purpose in life if they were deprived of a focus. They would live an aimless life unbefitting a human being created by God to enjoy Christ's abundant supply. But the Lord's intention is for man to have a noble goal and pursue it with all his might. That was the main point that our Lord Jesus Christ emphasized when He spoke to His disciples about the importance of His Second Coming and the need for caution. He discussed the relationship between what you aim for and how that goal should devour all of your time and resources. According to the Lord, such a prized possession should be placed "in the heavens that never fail, where no thief approacheth, nor moth corrupteth." God is concerned with man's final destinations and prioritizes his spiritual well-being above all else. He is fully cognizant that a person's secula...

TOPIC: GENUINE MODEL FOR GOD

Image
TEXT: 1 TIMOTHY 4:12-16. "Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Neglect, not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.  Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee." As a Christian whether young or old how you lived your life matters a lot. Your life is a book before many people both young and old, are watching you on daily basis.  "Let no man detest thy youth; yet be thou an illustration of the devotees, in word, in the discussion, in the foundation, in the soul, in confidence, in virtue" (1 Timothy 4:12). In Greek, "model...

THE ABANDONED PREACHER

Image
TEXT: 2 Timothy  4:10 For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia. The verse in our text is one among some of the verses of the scriptures that were misinterpreted by many Preachers especially those who use the tropical method of preaching. Although I use expository methods I don't condemn those who used topical methods either. Demas has abandoned me - This is yet another proof of the epistle's postponement: Demas was with the apostle during his first imprisonment, and joins in the salutations, see Col 4:14, which were written when Paul was imprisoned in Rome for the first time. Like Apostle Paul a time will come when people in fact people you never expect will abandon you, this may not be because you are bad or something but based on their personal decisions. Whenever this kind of event happens what matters is how strong you are to handle the situation... I PRAY FOR SOMEONE...

HAVE FAITH IN YOUR VISION

Image
TEXT: "I will pour out My Spirit," says the Lord (Joel 2:29 NKJV.) And also on the servants and handmaids - The gifts of teaching and training men are not limited to any one class or order of people. He shall summon and qualify men of his own choosing, and shall remove them from all ranks, orders, degrees, and offices in society. And He will pour out His Spirit on them, endowing them with all the gifts and graces required to convert sinners and build up the Church of Christ on the foundation of its most holy faith. And this God has done and continues to do. He abandoned the Aaronic line and chose his apostles from any tribe. He bypassed the established order of the clergy and the public schools of the most known doctors and recruited his evangelists from the ranks of fishermen, tent-makers, and even Roman tax-gatherers. Finally, Jesus proceeded through the Jewish tribes, taking Gentile converts and making them preachers of righteousness to the inhabitants of the...

DON'T QUIT PRAYING AND FIGHTING.

Image
TEXT: Hebrews  10:36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. Each day we are confronted with thousands of reasons why we should quit. Back on campus exactly when some of us were thinking of quitting a lecturer told us his story of how he wanted to quit but he remembered those who were looking unto him. I PRAY GOD WILL SUPPLY YOU WITH ENOUGH GRACE TO CONTINUE IN JESUS MIGHTY NAME... Satan concentrates on you. He comprehends your assets and shortcomings and knows how to push you as far as possible. Yet, when you continue standing, continue accepting, and continue to battle, the Book of scriptures says, "Favored is the one who perseveres… when he has been endorsed, he will get the crown" (James 1:12). The word “approved” means victory that qualifies you for greater things. The word “endures” means your character and tenacity are being tested. You say, “How long will this trial last?” Only God knows. Goliat...

SIGNS OF AN EAR TICKLER PREACHER

Image
TEXT: "A time is coming when people will not bear good instruction, but with itchy ears, they will gather for themselves instructors to suit their own desires and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into falsehoods," Paul warned Timothy ( Timothy 4:3-4). That admonition came true in Timothy's day, and it has come true many times since, especially now, when there are so many ear-tickling preachers. How can we identify them? We all know that lying is incredibly deceptive, and no one wants to be fooled. And we all know that no one ever steps up and declares, "What I'm preaching is a false doctrine designed to fool and ruin you!" We also recognize that it is presumptuous for any of us to believe that we alone have correct doctrine while everyone else is mistaken. But Paul did not warn Timothy in vain, and he does not warn us in vain, so we must ask ourselves what distinctive qualities of ear-tickling preachers are. A. Earworm pr...
