DON'T QUIT PRAYING AND FIGHTING.

TEXT: Hebrews  10:36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

Each day we are confronted with thousands of reasons why we should quit. Back on campus exactly when some of us were thinking of quitting a lecturer told us his story of how he wanted to quit but he remembered those who were looking unto him.

I PRAY GOD WILL SUPPLY YOU WITH ENOUGH GRACE TO CONTINUE IN JESUS MIGHTY NAME...

Satan concentrates on you. He comprehends your assets and shortcomings and knows how to push you as far as possible. Yet, when you continue standing, continue accepting, and continue to battle, the Book of scriptures says, "Favored is the one who perseveres… when he has been endorsed, he will get the crown" (James 1:12).

The word “approved” means victory that qualifies you for greater things. The word “endures” means your character and tenacity are being tested. You say, “How long will this trial last?” Only God knows. Goliath defied the armies of Israel for forty days (See 1 Samuel 17:16). Satan hindered Daniel’s prayers for twenty-one days (See Daniel 10:13).

Satan is unyielding, so you must be as well. When it comes to prayer, your perseverance triumphs over his opposition. "Do not discard this confident trust in the Lord... You need patience and endurance right now... Then you will receive everything He has promised you" (Hebrews 10:35-36).

David had no problems with Bathsheba until he left the battlefield (See 2 Samuel 11:1). So keep fighting, and God will help you. He did it to help Joshua.

When Joshua needed more time to defeat his adversary, God caused the sun to stand still and time to stop (See Joshua 10:12). God seemed to be saying to him, "As long as the sun doesn't set, you won't either, because the same power that keeps it up keeps you up!" The Bible says that when Jesus healed ten lepers, "as they went, they were cleansed" (Luke 17:14). They were most likely wondering, "When and how will it happen?" Faith does not require explanations or details; it simply moves forward, trusting God for the best outcome.

My little admonition for you now is that you should not quit, you have come a long way already, and the distance left is shorter than the distance you had traveled already.

Or, will you go back to drinking and smoking? Will you go back to idolatry and sacrifice chicken and lizard by midnight? Will you now go and learn money rituals, yahoo - yahoo or ask to be initiated into witchcraft?

Will you ask the prostitutes to teach you how to prostitute because God is delaying you? Will you go for power because you think God is too slow?

Made up your mind and stick with God, surely He will see you through at the right time.
