WHERE IS YOUR TREASURE?
LUKE 12:32-48
KEY VERSE: "For where your treasure is, there will also be your heart" (Luke 12:34).
Men would be deprived of a purpose in life if they were deprived of a focus. They would live an aimless life unbefitting a human being created by God to enjoy Christ's abundant supply. But the Lord's intention is for man to have a noble goal and pursue it with all his might.
That was the main point that our Lord Jesus Christ emphasized when He spoke to His disciples about the importance of His Second Coming and the need for caution. He discussed the relationship between what you aim for and how that goal should devour all of your time and resources. According to the Lord, such a prized possession should be placed "in the heavens that never fail, where no thief approacheth, nor moth corrupteth."
God is concerned with man's final destinations and prioritizes his spiritual well-being above all else. He is fully cognizant that a person's secular activities can have an impact on his spiritual ambitions. Only if the primary objective is heaven and all energies are guided towards that goal will there be a positive impact. A true Christian who lays his wealth in heaven must be faithful, watchful, and guarded against diversions and genuinely care about this life.
The treasures of the Christian far outweigh the wealth of this life. The time, skills, and everything else we give to God adds up to the riches we are depositing in heaven in gratitude for the blessings we have in Christ. We also passionately speak the Word in subservience to His command and plan for His promised return. No wealth is too valuable to offer to complete this mission.
