THE ABANDONED PREACHER

TEXT: 2 Timothy  4:10 For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.

The verse in our text is one among some of the verses of the scriptures that were misinterpreted by many Preachers especially those who use the tropical method of preaching. Although I use expository methods I don't condemn those who used topical methods either.

Demas has abandoned me - This is yet another proof of the epistle's postponement: Demas was with the apostle during his first imprisonment, and joins in the salutations, see Col 4:14, which were written when Paul was imprisoned in Rome for the first time.

Like Apostle Paul a time will come when people in fact people you never expect will abandon you, this may not be because you are bad or something but based on their personal decisions. Whenever this kind of event happens what matters is how strong you are to handle the situation...

I PRAY FOR SOMEONE READING THIS, MAY GOD GIVE YOU THE GRACE TO BEAR THE THAT BETRAYAL IN JESUS NAME...

A lady told a marriage counselor that on their wedding day when the priest said "for better or worst" she said "for better for you" meaning she didn't accept the worst part and now she is not bound by that vow therefore she is leaving the marriage since the husband is now poor.

Demas never thought the ministry job will lead to hatred, hardship, persecution, and imprisonment. Now he has changed his mind and decided to leave...

I can't really figure out who but someone is reading this and you are already planning on giving up due to rejection, people abandon you and don't appreciate your effort, please know that it is a normal thing it happens always, especially in the life of Preachers and leaders.

BUT I PRAY THAT GOD WILL REVIVE YOU FOR GREATER EXPLOIT IN JESUS NAME...

Last week I read about a pastor who closed church service after 25 minutes because of discouragement. Yes, it happens always.

Here in the group, we have come across many people who ran to us for prayers and counseling when they were in serious need, we fast and pray for them. But when they got what they wanted they now remembered that they have a  church they attend and they have a pastor there they realized that we are no longer important. Some will just go silent until when they are in trouble again.

Having adored the current world Having preferred Judaism to Christianity; loving the Jews and seeking their welfare over that of the Gentiles.

If you read the story of Apostle Paul you will notice that most of his persecutions came from the Jewish because they believed the gospel should be for them alone even though they have rejected it. On the other hand, whenever the Gentiles are rejoicing for getting the gospel the Jewish will be angry and start a riot. Demas wanted to avoid this challenging lifestyle so he chose to go back to the Jewish system of worship.


... And if you are reading this and since you started praying die, die prayers, since you started attending churches like Deeper life, Mountain of fire, chosen church, etc nobody from your family or environment make jest of you then something is wrong with you.

I know of a herbalist who said all his children must remain in the catholic church...

Rejection will come when people find out that they can no longer have their ways or after they have gotten what they want...

If God should open your eyes to see the number of testimonies and great things God is doing through this ministry you will be surprised ๐Ÿคจ but people will keep it to share it in their churches on Sunday. Every of our special deliverance prayer programs contains testimonies that are not shared.

But instead of feeling discouraged and abandoned, we move ahead. Sometimes after the program out of over 1000 people only one or two will care to give offerings as for tithes hmm ๐Ÿค” it is a long story.

I am telling you these so that you will know that feeling disappointed and abandoned as a preacher is a normal thing but DON'T QUIT...
